Madonna and Child II

1989

Andres Serrano

Artist, American, born 1950

The hazy, unfocused faces of a woman and baby and their halos fill this vertical composition, which is printed in tones of tangerine orange and goldenrod yellow. The woman and child are almost cheek to cheek, with the child to the left and woman to the right. The outlines are blurred, giving the print an ethereal, otherworldly look.
