Georges Dussueil [1848-1926], Le Havre;[1] (his sale, Hôtel Drouot, Paris, 3 April 1925, no. 34); (Galerie Druet, Paris); (Kraushaar Galleries, New York); sold 1927 to Chester Dale [1883-1962], New York; bequest 1963 to NGA.
[1] The 1925 sale catalogue identifies the seller only as "Monsieur D..." Jérôme Dussueil has kindly supplied information about his great-grandfather, including the correct spelling of the surname, life dates, and place of residence, as well as a photograph of the interior of Dussueil's residence hung with many paintings, including The Pont Neuf (see correspondence of November/December 2005, in NGA curatorial files).
