(Kasmin Limited, London); sold 1966 to Burton G. [1902-1991] and Emily Hall [1908-1987] Tremaine, Madison, Connecticut;[1] gift 1976 to NGA.
[1] Memo to the file, 30 April 1982, from NGA staff member Trinkett Clark, recording information given to her by Mrs. Tremaine. Two labels from the painting's stretcher, also in NGA curatorial files, include the dealer's name.
