Across a still, reflective lake, a curving rock formation juts high into the sky in this horizontal, black and white photograph. Snow-dusted trees, both evergreen and the leafless branches of deciduous trees, frame the scene and line the far side of the lake. Snow blankets the rocky ridges around the Half Dome, the flat face of which is angled to our left. A few puffy clouds drift across the sky.
